He has also starred in such films as Dante's Peak, The World Is Not Enough, and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In addition to his film and television work, Brosnan is also an accomplished painter and philanthropist.Brosnan was born in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland, on May 16, 1953. He was raised in a Catholic household and attended private schools. When he was 11 years old, his family moved to London, England. After high school, Brosnan began training as an actor at the Drama Centre in London. He made his acting debut in the 1976 film The Long Good Friday.Brosnan's break-out role came in 1982 when he was cast as the lead in the television series Remington Steele. The show was a hit and ran for five seasons. After it ended, Brosnan went on to star in a number of films, including the Bond films GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough. He also starred in the films Dante's Peak and The Thomas Crown Affair.In addition to his work in film and television, Brosnan is also an accomplished painter. His work has been exhibited in galleries in London, New York, and Los Angeles. He has also been active in philanthropy, supporting a number of charities and causes.Brosnan has been married twice and has three children. He currently resides in London with his wife, Keely Shaye Smith.
