1. Scott Frost returns to his Alma Mater
After a disappointing end to last season, Nebraska fans have something to be excited about this year – the return of Scott Frost. Frost, who played quarterback for the Cornhuskers from 1995 to 1997, is back as head coach. He’s bringing with him a new energy and excitement that wasn’t there last year.

2. A new offensive coordinator
Frost is also bringing in a new offensive coordinator, Troy Walters. Walters was most recently the offensive coordinator at UCF, where he helped lead the team to an undefeated season. He’s known for his innovative offensive schemes, which should be a welcomed change for Nebraska fans.

3. A more experienced team
With a year under their belts, this team should be more experienced and better prepared for the season. They’ve had a year to learn Frost’s system and should be able to hit the ground running this season.

4. A tough schedule
This season’s schedule is no cakewalk, but that’s actually a good thing. The tougher the schedule, the more prepared the team will be for the conference and postseason games. Plus, it’ll be fun to see how the team stacks up against some of the best teams in the country.

5. Exciting new players
In addition to the experienced returners, there are also some exciting new players on the team. Freshmen Maurice Washington and Wan’Dale Robinson should make an immediate impact on the offense. On defense, keep an eye out for freshman defensive end Ty Robinson.

With a new head coach, offensive coordinator, and some exciting new players, there’s a lot to be excited about for Nebraska football this season.
